Far from the safety of the clans exists the entirety of League: an unpredictable world where danger and adventure walk side by side. The kittypets, loners, and rogues of this world are forging their own paths in a land that offers unlimited freedom. And understanding the types of cats who call the outskirts home is the first step to surviving here. For all its harshness, League offers freedom like nowhere else. There is no code to follow, no borders to guard—only what each individual makes of their life. Whether you were born there or wandered in from the unknown, one truth holds steady: this world has a place for every clan-cat, kittypet, loner and rogue.
Kittypets are cats who live with Twolegs (humans). They enjoy soft bedding, regular meals, and shelter from the elements. Most kittypets are gentle and unaccustomed to hardship, having never hunted for their food or fought to protect themselves. While some are curious about the wild, others fear it. Many are friendly, if a bit naive, and may struggle to understand the ways of cats who live beyond fences and garden walls. Some kittypets are content to live and die under the care of Twolegs. Others, however, feel the pull of something more and may wander into the unknown—though they rarely last long without guidance.

Loners are solitary cats who live apart from the clans, but unlike rogues, they do not seek conflict. They value independence, preferring a peaceful, self-sufficient life. A loner might make their home in an abandoned barn, a hollow tree, or a quiet cave. They rarely form groups, though they may befriend other loners or occasionally assist those in need.Encounters with loners are often calm, though they may be cautious or reserved. Many are skilled hunters and know the land well. They ask for little and expect the same in return: to be left in peace.

Rogues are the most dangerous of the cats outside the clans. Shaped by harsh lives or bitter pasts, rogues live by strength and cunning. They trust few, and many are quick to fight. Some operate alone, while others form vicious bands that skulk through the sewers or abandoned ruins, preying on the weak or unlucky. Their goals vary—some crave control, others revenge, and some simply want to survive on their own terms. When crossing paths with a rogue, it's wise to be alert. A friendly greeting could quickly turn into a deadly challenge.
